To introduce myself, I was in the game development field from 2003-2006 and worked at Electronic Arts and Hypnotix. Around the end of 2006, I moved back to India to start a company in software for diamonds and jewelry.

I'm looking to expand in other fields including exploring opportunities back in the video game development field. I have a few questions my mind:

I'd like to understand what kind of work is currently outsourced:
Art? - Modeling / Textures / Animation
Development? - In-Game / Engine / Menus / Tools / Sound
Testing?

Are there any instances of an indian company taking care of the entire development process?

Is this work directly outsourced by publishers / developers or does it usually go through sub-contractors / agents?

How big is the game development outsourcing field as compared to the film graphics outsourcing field? Where are they going?

I am traveling in United States until the 29th of March after which I will be back in India. I'd love to talk to people about opportunities in this field.
