Gameplay Programmer, Runic Games

Location: Seattle, Washington Runic Games, the creator of the Torchlight series, is looking for an all-around great gameplay programmer to help build a new IP. The candidate will need to show a strong sense of game design and a willingness to work with others. The individual must be self-motivating and require little oversight in getting tasks or issues resolved. The position will require the individual to touch all parts of the game code as well as require the candidate to help build new systems in a very iterative process. An understanding of C/C++ is required and additional knowledge of tool design, C#, console programming are an additional bonus to the interviewee. A love of games is required. Requirements - Have gone through a full cycle of a shipped game or 3+ years in the industry. - Has advanced understanding of C/C++ - Worked on at least 1 published title. - Good problem solving skills. - Communicates well with others. - Able to stay on schedule with little oversight. Bonus Qualifications - Experience with console programming, multi-threading, streaming and optimization. - Tool Design. - Steam Integration. - Additional OS Programming (Apple OSX/iOS, Linux/Unix, Android.) - Network Programming.
