The Triangle Game Initiative announced that Troy Knight, director of the design and media division at consulting firm Vaco Raleigh, will serve as Triangle's new serious games programming director. The Triangle Game Initiative is a nonprofit trade association that promotes the interactive entertainment industry in the Raleigh-Durham region of North Carolina. Knight is among 18 board members that will assist the Triangle Game Initiative's local growth. The group aims to boost the local economy by collaborating with and promoting the entertainment industry. "I am honored to serve on the board of TGI as the serious games programming director," said Knight. "I am looking forward to working with others in the Triangle to bring creative perspective and innovation to TGI and the local entertainment industry." The Triangle Game Initiative hosts the annual Triangle Games Conference, an event that includes lectures and panels dedicated to serious games and advanced learning technologies. The next Triangle Games Conference will be held on April 7th and 8th, 2010.
