Nottingham, UK-based Playmetrix says it's in the process of inviting select game developers, publishers and platform-holders to begin implementing and working with its game analytics solution, offering beta accounts to limited early adopters. Playmetrix will launch its analytics solution "later this year", hoping to offer its customers an analytics solution that can be customized according to the ways in which they want to collect, process and display data on player behavior. The analytics tools' features include the ability to record and report on player activity, dashboards, heat maps, charts, conversion tables and more. Its analytics work with multiple platforms and devices including browsers, Facebook, mobile, consoles and tablets. Playmetrix also provide data analysis services to financial analysts who will "assist with interpreting" it and consult with Playmetrix's customers on optimizing game features according to analytics. Playmetrix CTO Justin Johnson said that the company learned from having "road-tested" its analytics service on PlayStation Network over the past year. "A game’s success is becoming more and more dependent upon data driven iterative development cycles," he says. "Our tools empower our customers to make optimum decisions around game design."
