Vision Engine maker Trinigy has been working closely with Jenkins Software's RakNet team on an integration project that integrate RakNet's networking features with the Vision Engine game development platform. Trinigy says it's similar to the integration partnership it recently revealed with FMOD's audio suite; RakNet's SDK will now be bundled with Vision Engine's. The companies say the aim is to provide developers with "out-of-the-box" access to cross-platform networking features alongside Vision Engine. Specifically, the pair describe a collaboration whereby RakNet's features have been knit directly into vForge, Vision Engine's scene editor. Trinigy also notes that developers may still implement their own networking solutions while developing with Vision Engine, and are free to use the integration to whichever extent they prefer for their project needs. Vision Engine offers numerous networking integrations. "These days, more and more games are including advanced networking features," says Trinigy GM Felix Roeken. "With Jenkins Software, we have designed a solution that gives developers free access to RakNet's extensive feature set without locking them into a closed, one-size-fits-all solution."
