2D Artist

Summary

 

We’re looking for a passionate designer with experience in designing (online) advertising campaigns: banners, newsletters, landing pages and campaign sites. If you also have experience creating designs for offline channels (billboards, magazines, etc.) and/or experience with sketching storyboards for commercials and/or films, those would be big plusses. In addition, experience working with 3D assets to create 2D advertising material would also be considered a big advantage.

You will need to be able to show a diversity of styles and be flexible working on different projects, as you will be creating marketing campaigns in cooperation with the rest of the marketing team for our different gaming titles, as well as for the company itself (all different brands). Being a gamer yourself and understanding what gamers love, as well as being aware of what other game companies around the world are doing (especially in the area of marketing) is also highly recommended.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creation of online marketing materials, including (but not limited to) banners, landing pages, email newsletters as well as campaign sites.

  • Design of offline marketing materials, such as billboards, print ads and other forms of offline advertising.

  • Providing art direction and concept ideas for marketing campaigns and materials.

  • Assisting marketing team in visualizing (sketching) ideas for campaigns, videos and other concepts.

Skills Required

  • Understand a variety of audiences and their preferences in art style and user experience (especially western mobile users).

  • Genuine interest and passion for mobile games, entertainment, and global pop culture.

  • General knowledge of mobile games.

  • Genuine interest and passion for advertising, branding and marketing.

  • Broad knowledge of movies, music, comics, animation, or other forms of entertainment.

  • English writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to explain your artistic choices and recommendations in a logical way.

  • Eye for detail and strive for perfection.

  • Ability to do quick black and white sketches is a big plus.

  • Experience doing offline designs (print ads, billboards, etc.) considered a plus.

  • Experience working with 3D assets considered a big plus.

  • Ability to do detailed colour concept art.

Lead Concept Artist

Summary

This position is for a passionate character and environment concept artist.  With your expertise, you will create concept art for new games and features in a wide variety of art styles for different audiences.   You will take responsibility for the game’s conceptual look and feel and craft a visual style for the intended audience.  You understand the preferences and expectations of different players and are able to create concept art styles that meet their needs.  As a Senior Concept Artist you should have broad understanding of different art styles, which art styles are best for different audiences, and in general the ability to craft a creative eye catching visual style the intended audience will enjoy.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of concept art for characters, environment, and objects

  • Define a visual art style for the game, such as silly or serious characters, dark or light colors, and a happy or brooding mood

  • Collaborate with 2D and 3D artists to help them understand and produce the vision portrayed in your concept art

  • Collaborate with game design to define and fine tune potential art styles and concept art

Skills Required

  • Ability to create eye catching concept art the intended audience will love

  • Ability to do quick black and white character and environment sketches

  • Ability to do detailed colour concept art

  • Understand a variety of audiences and their preferences in art style (especially western mobile users)

  • Genuine interest and passion for mobile games, entertainment, and global pop culture

  • General knowledge of mobile games and mobile game art

Senior UI Artist

Summary

This position is for a passionate UI artist with experience playing lots of games.  With your expertise, you will create UI art assets and provide art direction and layout recommendations for UI and UX based on design documents.  This may require concept art for different UI elements, styles, icons, screen transitions, and other UI user experience.  You will take responsibility for the game’s UI user experience.  As a Senior UI Artist you should have comprehensive knowledge of game UI and UX, knowledge of excellent mobile game UI, and in general the ability to craft an excellent UI user experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creation of UI art, well designed screen layouts and any related 2D art assets

  • Provide UI art direction and style based on design documents (including UI layout, effects, and transitions) with quick sketches or mock ups

  • Provide concept art for different UI elements, styles, icons, screen transitions, and other UI user experience

  • Review UI flow and screen transitions (both in game and in design documents) and provide direction for the best user experience

  • Learn from existing research and provide basic UI and UX mentoring to other team members

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to critique design documents and 2D art related to UI and UX, providing constructive feedback to improve the user experience and visual quality

  • Understand a variety of audiences and their taste in art style and user experience (especially western mobile users)

  • Genuine interest and passion for mobile games

  • General knowledge of mobile games and mobile game UI

  • Broad knowledge of many games and the UI across different game platforms and genres

  • English writing and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to explain your artistic choices and recommendations in a logical way

  • Ability to review game UI and UX, notice tiny details, and recommend changes to perfect it

  • Ability to create other 2D art such as characters and environment is a plus

  • General knowledge of how to take an artistic idea you have, such as an interesting screen transition, and collaborate with engineers and designers to determine its cost and benefit
