Longtime Blizzard staffer Dustin Browder announced today that he's giving up his spot as game director on the studio's Heroes of the Storm MOBA to "try something new" elsewhere in the company.

While this isn't the end of the project -- Heroes technical director Alan Dabiri is stepping into the role of game director -- Browder's shift is notable for game industry watchers who have been keeping an eye on the shakeups at Blizzard over the past twelve months.

It caps off an eventful year for the company, which launched Overwatch out of the ashes of its failed Titan MMORPG to commercial and critical acclaim.

Some high-profile staffers departed, a departed cofounder returned, and now it appears unannounced projects are in development with the help of folks like Browder -- who was, before Heroes, the game director on StarCraft II.
