The Digipen Institute of Technology announced that it will host the Serious Play Conference in August, an event focused on the creation of game applications for the corporate, military, education and health sectors. Revealing an upcoming lineup of panels and sessions across five discussion tracks, organizers note that the event will be attended by heads of corporate training programs, senior educators, simulation developers, and serious games hardware and software vendors. "Serious gaming has become an integral part of the world today," said Claude Comair, founder and president of DigiPen. "Our DigiPen campus is an ideal place to hold the serious gaming conference. DigiPen has been involved in simulation since the 1980's, even before we were involved in developing video games." "We look forward to hosting people from many different industries to exchange opinions and ideas about the exciting and expanding field of serious gaming." The Serious Play Conference will be held from August 22 through 25 at DigiPen's campus in Redmond, Washington. Speaker submissions are being accepted at [email protected].
