Mumbai-based Games2Win, an online and casual games developer, announced its securing of $6 million in a Series B investment round from existing backers Clearstone Venture Partners and Silicon Valley Bank. Founded in 2007 as a spin-off from Contests2win.com India, Games2Win currently has around 70 workers in its team. The company operates a casual games portal, and has released a number of iOS (mostly free-to-play) and social titles like Junkyard Mayhem and Super Mom. The developer says it reaches more than 20 million unique users each month through its portals, its library of more than 350 titles, and its in-game ad network. Games2win's titles are licensed by publishers like Yahoo.com, Viacom Kids, and The Discovery Channel. As part of the financing round, Clearstone Venture Partners' Rajan Mehra will join Games2Win's board of directors. The developer previously raised $5 million in a Series A round four years ago, most of that funding coming from Clearstone Venture Partners. "Games2win owns one of the largest collections of casual and ‘snacky’ games in the world and we intend to aggressively capitalize on the huge energy and excitement surrounding ‘online games’ which is the fastest growing category on the Internet," says Games2Win CEO Alok Kejriwal. Kejriwal continues, "The new resurgence of mobility and internet in India is creating massive opportunities in the online gaming space and we are very well geared to dominate that space with our strong foothold here."
