The latest issue of Game Developer magazine, the sister print publication to Gamasutra.com, and the leading U.S. trade publication for the video game industry, has now shipped to subscribers. The cover feature for the May 2005 issue, which will be additionally distributed outside the Kentia Hall at the E3 Expo next week, is The Behemoth's multiple IGF award winner Alien Hominid, in which the creators share the story of their journey, the adventure that took their game from its humble Flash beginnings to console acclaim, all on a self-financed shoestring budget. In addition, in a Game Developer exclusive interview, 4orty 2wo Entertainment, the brains behind the Halo 2 viral marketing ARG ilovebees.com, talks at length about just what went into the construction of this landmark marriage of interactive marketing and alternate reality gaming. Other major features include Neversoft co-founder Mick West discussing how game developers can better plan and map your player controls for 'the sloppy thumb crowd', as well as an interview with J Allard, the Xbox's charismatic frontman, referencing some potential ways to alleviate the headache of going next-gen. The magazine also contains the latest news in the Heads Up Display section, its regular code, graphics, audio, design, and business columns, and much more. Worldwide subscriptions to Game Developer magazine are available via subscription at the official magazine website. Newsstand copies are also available at North American outlets including Fry's Electronics and Barnes & Noble.
