Toy Story 3 Leads UK Sales In Wake Of Starcraft II

After topping the UK sales charts for one week, Blizzard's Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty fell to number four as Toy Story 3, Modern Warfare 2, and Dance on Broadway filled out the top three in its place.

Disney’s Toy Story 3 returned to the top of the UK sales charts as Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty fell from the number one spot for the week ended August 7, tracking firm Chart-Track announced Monday. Acivision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 made a startling leap to the top three, hitting the number two spot for the first time since the third week of 2010. Modern Warfare 2 is well on its way to becoming the best-selling title in the UK, with its sales numbers approaching those of Nintendo’s Brain Training, the game that currently holds the title. Ubisoft’s Dance of Broadway filled out the top three and pushed Starcraft II, last week’s top-selling title, into number four. Continuing to sell week after week, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption hit number five, its lowest position yet after 12 straight weeks in the top 10. Below are the top 10 rankings for the all-platforms chart, which combines sales of all versions of a given game. UK All-Platforms Top 10 1. Toy Story 3 (Disney Interactive Studios) 2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision) 3. Dance on Broadway (Ubisoft) 4. Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty (Blizzard) 5. Red Dead Redemption (Take-Two) 6. Just Dance (Ubisoft) 7. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (Level 5) 8. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 (Warner Bros.) 9. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo) 10. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (EA Games) UK Individual Platforms Top 10 Ubisoft’s Dance on Broadway topped the individual platforms list, with Starcraft II and Just Dance rounding out the top three. The PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 saw a notable leap in sales, jumping from number 12 to number six; the Xbox 360 version did not break the top 10, and jumped from number 15 to number 12.
