The Australian retail chart continues to slumber, as Need for Speed: Most Wanted continues to dominate the market for going on two months now. The chart is still plagued with a lack of new titles; instead, the same 15 to 20 games cycle through the available top 10 spots, with certain games appearing more consistently than others. Buzz: The Music Quiz Bundle is one such consistent seller, switching places with WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 06 yet again in their dance between #2 and #3. Other peripheral-based games are still hot, whether they're falling a bit (like EyeToy: Play 3, down to #9 this week) or rising back up (SingStar 80s Bundle, returning to the chart at a respectable #6). All that remains of the PSP in Australia is Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, but it remains immovable at #4, as does Ricky Ponting International Cricket 05 at #6. "New" to the chart this week are Mario Kart DS, coming back in at #8, and Shrek Superslam for GBA at #10, proving the apparently stagnant state of the Australian market. Surely there's an opportunity for someone to realize something here, anything, and have it snatched up by grateful Aussies.
