Today's round-up includes Ubisoft's E3 game line-up, information on a new Evil Dead video game from THQ, as well as today's feature from Jorrit Rouwé of Shellshock: Nam ‘67 creator Guerrilla Games. - Ubisoft announced its lineup of games to be displayed at E3 2005, from May 17-20 in Los Angeles. The titles to be shown are AND 1 Streetball, a street basketball game; Far Cry Instincts, the Xbox version of the tropical FPS; Heroes of Might and Magic V, the Nival-developed PC RPG; 187 Ride or Die, an urban racing game; Peter Jackson's King Kong, the game based on the upcoming film; Prince of Persia 3, the third 3D installment in the award-winning adventure series; Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII, a war-based flight sim; Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, another in the squad-based shooter series; Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Lockdown, a console-specific game in the long-running franchise; America's Army: Rise of a Soldier, the console port of the realistic military FPS. Also shown off the show floor will be the sequel to Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 and Myst V: End of Ages. - THQ has announced a third game based on the cult favorite Evil Dead series of movies, which star Bruce Campbell as Ash, a hapless store clerk pitted against the maniacal forces of the undead. The new game, Evil Dead: Regeneration takes the end of the second movie as its starting point to move in an "alternate reality" direction, which puts Ash in an asylum for the criminally insane. Thanks to the machinations of his psychiatrist, the Deadites are once again released and begin (to use the press release's phrase) "twisting reality into a hellish strudel." The game will ship on Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC with a release date to be announced. - Also updated on Gamasutra today (free reg. req.): our major feature for the day has Jorrit Rouwé of Dutch developers Guerrilla Games explaining the core code-related design decisions in Eidos-published console title Shellshock: Nam ‘67, and detailing how they were implemented. There is also product news discussing Omegames' new game interface middleware, news on X-Mesh's use in the new Alone In The Dark game, and newly advertised jobs from Blue Fang Games and Computer Staff.
