Swedish project management software vendor Hansoft has included new features in the latest release of its eponymous software to assist productivity for next-generation games development teams. A highlight is is the new delegation function that allows producers and project managers to delegate responsibility for planning, tracking and managing to team leaders and others in a unlimited number of levels. Hansoft now also features support for multiple resource groups. Together with the resource usage function, this makes constant changes, delays and reallocations of resources more manageable. "Today, users within different industries such as telecom and IT-consulting have discovered the benefits of using Hansoft," said managing director Patric Palm. "Still, we put a lot of priority to the games development market, especially since we have our roots there." He continued: "Starbreeze (The Chronicles of Riddick, now developing The Darkness for next-gen) have been a customer since we founded the company in 2002 and my two fellow co-founders have a background in games development as project manager/producer and engine developer. You could say that Hansoft is the outcome of games developers making a business app."
