Just days after announcing a new studio dedicated to download only titles, British developer Kuju have announced another studio, named NiK NaK, dedicated to children’s titles. The studio will be lead by Kevin Hollway and will be situated on the Surrey University Research Park near Kuju’s main offices, and the recently formed doublesix, in Guildford. NiK NaK will create games across all platforms for a core audience of six to twelve year olds. As such the studio will make only make games that comply with the European PEGI 7+ age rating or lower (roughly equivalent to an ESRB rating of ‘E’ For Everyone 10+ in North America). No specific games have been announced, but the team is working on a series of games based on a high profile intellectual property that will be announced in early 2008. "I am very excited to be heading up NiK NaK, we have big ambitions for the studio to become a world leader in the huge kids' games genre. The new studio ethos is all about passion and creativity,” said Hollway – who will be attending the Game Connection event in Lyon, France today and tomorrow to introduce the new studio to publishers.
