Nvidia Corporation, a producer of graphics and digital media processors, announced the immediate availability of its MAXtreme 7, a 3D application tool that enhances the productivity of Autodesk 3ds Max software on Nvidia Quadro professional graphics solutions. Initial MAXtreme 7 results demonstrate an increase in performance of up to 134% over 3ds Max using the default OpenGL driver on the application benchmark internally developed and sanctioned by Autodesk Media and Entertainment (previously known as Discreet). Nvidia provides the free and fully certified MAXtreme productivity tool on its official Web site. The MAXtreme driver performs a number of key functions when using 3ds Max software, including controlling the application’s viewport display quality and rendering speed. A variety of rendering enhancements are also enabled, leveraging the hardware rendering capabilities found in Nvidia Quadro FX boards. In addition to 3ds Max, MAXtreme enhances the productivity of Autodesk VIZ, 3D modeling, rendering, and presentation software that provides image creation technologies for communicating and sharing design concepts and alternatives. Nvidia developed MAXtreme 7 in close collaboration with Autodesk Media and Entertainment in order to maximize productivity of 3D artists using 3ds Max 7. MAXtreme can be used on the Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems, and is optimized for use with the complete top-to-bottom lineup of Nvidia Quadro FX products for desktop and mobile workstations.
