SoFarSoFun :
Ukraine – October 28, 2024. SoFarSoFun is excited to release the first gameplay teaser for BEYONDER, providing a glimpse at the game’s showstopping 3-way multiplayer, lo-fi visuals, and first-person horror.
Each round, up to 32 players are split into three factions with distinct playstyles: tactical shooter, stealth hunt, or a horror battle royale. BEYONDER’s multiplayer centers on teamwork and in-game voice communication, with players forced to choose whether to help or deceive each other, all while being hunted by other players.
Players can now sign up for BEYONDER’s upcoming playtest, planned for early 2025.
Set in the late 1990s, BEYONDER puts players in the Pine Grove Complex — a shadowy government facility dedicated to paranormal research. When an experiment opens a door that should’ve stayed locked forever, an elite unit is dispatched to contain the situation. But what they find in Pine Grove is beyond procedure.
BEYONDER is designed as a 3-way multiplayer experience, with up to 32 players cooperating, bargaining, manipulating, and hunting each other to survive. Players are split into three factions at the start of each round. Operatives (4-6 players) are heavily armed with advanced weapons and gadgets. MORPHs (3-4 players) wield terrifying supernatural powers, stalking their prey in the shadows. The remaining Lab Rats (up to 20 players) are unarmed survivors of human experimentation, desperate to get out.
Both Operatives and MORPHs can capture Lab Rats, converting them to their ranks for significant tactical advantages. Lab Rats, however, are unpredictable, as they can deceive and manipulate other players to secure their own survival.
The Pine Grove Complex has been breached. Trust no one. Outlast everyone. Escape.

Key Features
Unique 3-Way PvP Multiplayer. Operatives play a tactical shooter with hostages, MORPHs play a cat-and-mouse stealth hunt, and Lab Rats are stuck in a horror battle royale, having the worst time of their lives.
Advanced In-Game Voice Chat. Players rely on in-game radios and proximity voice chat to coordinate (or double cross) each other. Feed your team intel from CCTV, eavesdrop on enemies by tuning into their radio frequency, and plead for your life when you are caught.
Gear Up or Die. Well-funded Operatives are supplied with gadgets like motion trackers, autonomous turrets, radios, and deployable surveillance cameras. Lab Rats can use this tech, too — if the Operative is willing to share. Or if the Operative is already dead.
Fear the Unknown. Spectravators, invisible until you get close and undetectable by motion trackers, can cloak entire rooms in dense fog. Oculomorphs move faster when unobserved, blinding their victim before the kill. MORPHs take many unpleasant forms.
Control the Facility. Special locations in Pine Grove can shift the course of the entire game. Seize the Command Center to monitor player movements and unlock new routes. Destroy Hives to hinder the MORPHs’ respawn points. Trigger time-sensitive events like the Wipe Protocol to force a confrontation — or lure everyone into a trap.
Betrayal Is Always an Option. Some players will offer help. Others will work against you in secret. Lab Rats will do anything to not get caught, while MORPHs use their powers to confuse and manipulate other players. And you can never be sure if an Operative by your side has orders to evacuate or eliminate.
Survive Like It’s 1999. BEYONDER isn’t just set in the late 1990s — its lo-fi visuals are an homage to an era. BEYONDER wants to capture the grainy, VHS ambience of games like Half-Life and TV shows like X-Files, focusing on atmosphere rather than hyper-realistic graphics.
