Covyne's tactical RPG gets a Steam demo.

Melbourne, Australia — October 30, 2024 – Covyne Entertainment is pleased to announce the release of their flagship game demo for Dolven, a tactical RPG with turn-based combat and deck-building mechanics, set in a medieval fantasy world. The demo is now available on Steam.
Dolven merges tactical squad-based battles with innovative “card-combo” mechanics, offering a level of gameplay depth that sets it apart from other card battlers. The game will appeal to fans of tactical RPGs, deck-building games, and lore-heavy adventures in fantasy themed worlds.
“Our goal with Dolven was to create a game that’s as compelling for its story as it is for its gameplay,” said Andrew, founder of Covyne Entertainment. “I also wanted the card mechanics to be something entirely new, so I created the pillar system that allows players to create hand combos with the cards the way you do in poker. It adds a depth of cardplay that is not seen in other deck builder's. There is a little twist at the end of the demo too and it will most certainly cause players to want to play the next dungeon”
Key Features of Dolven
Turn-Based, Card-Driven Combat: Play cards against the dungeon boss, use cards to buff and energise characters or put a spell on an enemy character. The two types of card in the deck allow for a variety of gameplay and a cool poker twist you’ll enjoy.
Deep Narrative in a Medieval Fantasy Setting: There is story and lore to Dolven, you won’t learn everything about it in the demo, but the full game will slowly unravel the secrets of the evil plaguing the land. The demo will leave you with questions you will want to have answered.
Lore-Rich Exploration: Enemy characters are deeply rooted in the lore. Where did they come from and why are there zombies in a medieval fantasy??? All will be revealed in the games full release.
Customizable Deck and Characters: Build a deck to suit your playstyle, with abilities and tactics that encourage diverse and adaptable gameplay.
A Game for RPG and Fantasy Fans
Dolven will appeal to players who enjoy classic RPGs and nostalgic card games like Poker. Fans of games like Gloomhaven, Slay the Spire, and Darkest Dungeon will find familiar elements combined with fresh mechanics.
