SEATTLE, February 21st - Publisher tinyBuild and developers Splashteam are joining the Steam Next Fest today with the Tinykin demo. Download and help space explorer Milo out of a very strange predicament. The good news is that he's found Earth, mankind's long-lost home. The bad news is that on the surface he's barely an inch tall, the bugs have developed civilization and time hasn't advanced beyond the nineties. Take a look at this weird and wonderful world in the new gameplay trailer below.
Welcome to Tinykin, a colourful and cartoony platform adventure. Join Milo on his mission to unravel the strange secrets of this (relatively) massive mystery, befriend the local bugs and enlist the help of the mysterious Tinykin; strange and powerful little creatures that just want to help Milo out.
Channelling the spirit of 90s Saturday Morning Cartoons and classic games like Pikmin & Paper Mario, Tinykin is focused on letting players freely explore massive environments and solving problems as they see fit. The house is a gigantic space, or at least seems that way to an inch-high hero, with each room having its own civilizations, ecology and problems to solve.
Aided by the Tinykin, Milo employs their powers to haul massive (yet mundane) objects, build ladders and blast open sealed passages. Milo himself is no slouch either, able to leap tall books with a single bound, float between furniture with his versatile bubble-glider and zip around the rooms on an improvised surfboard made from a bar of soap.
The demo will let players experience the tutorial area and the first of many major regions in Tinykin - the Living Room, known as Sanctar to the insectoid inhabitants. Meet the local dragonfly clergy, visit their church and help the local insects unravel the mysteries of the record player.
The Tinykin demo will be available on Steam until the end of the Steam Next Fest (running from February 21st until Monday, February 28th), so make sure to play it before Splashteam return to their workshop to finish development. Review builds will be available before launch this Summer. Request yours here or email the Media Contact below.
