Miami, Florida— AEXLAB is excited to announce that the popular VR shooter VAIL is offering a free-to-play social hub, “The Citadel” starting November 7th. The move comes at a time where the world of VAIL is expanding – with new ways to play, new modes, and an aggressive roadmap that continues to ensure that VAIL is the premiere VR multiplayer shooter experience.
The Citadel currently serves as an interactive lobby where players can find friends and play mini-games before jumping into the rest of VAIL’s game modes. With this release, VAIL will now be available to download for free, giving players access to everything the Citadel offers including a 1v1 Face Off arena, a variety of mini-golf courses, an obstacle course/combat playground, a shooting range, and more. In addition to this, the Citadel is planned to be expanded with new free content, including a new wave shooter planned to release before the end of 2024.
Alongside the free-to-play social hub, “VAIL Combat” will be offered as an optional DLC at the same price as the current game. This will unlock all existing content in VAIL including matchmaking, custom games, all 13 maps, all 11 team based and free-for-all game modes, progression and level unlocks, and more. Current players of VAIL will automatically be granted VAIL Combat and will retain their current progress, unlocks, and cosmetics.
Jonathan Ovadian, the CEO of AEXLAB had this to share, “With the recent launch of the Quest 3S, we are excited to give players more ways to experience the world of VAIL. Over 300,000 unique players have already experienced VAIL, and AEXLAB is dedicated to making VAIL the premier app for all types of first person shooter experiences.”
AEXLAB has shared their updated roadmap with us and have indicated that they’ve started development on a new stand-alone extraction mode that will be included in VAIL Combat in 2025.
