The two companies hope to target a global market with the Play & Earn (P&E) mobile trading card game (TCG)
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, 28 FEBRUARY 2022 — Wemade, a South Korean game development company that is a frontrunner in the blockchain gaming sector, announces that it is on-boarding Kingdom Hunter by RedFox Games on the WEMIX platform. Kingdom Hunter is a mobile trading card game (TCG), following Legionz, which was launched in 2014 on Hangame. The game was in development for three years by a team of veterans including Ttriger CEO Jungdae Lee, who developed popular TCG games Legionz, Yo!Villian and Man or Vampire. With unique systems such as hero capture and persuasion, a prestige system and the hero’s special stats, players can expand cities and strengthen their heroes to fight in the world map or form allies.
Headquartered in San Jose, USA, RedFox Games is the first foreign company to be on-boarded on the WEMIX platform. With over 1.7 million players accumulated over time, the company became one of the frontrunners in the South American MMORPG market with the popular game Black Desert Online. In addition to game publishing, RedFox Games is actively supporting as an infrastructure-specialised consultant and mobile game development partner.
“We look forward to a successful launch in the South American market through our collaboration with Wemade. We have witnessed that players in South America are highly interested in blockchain games. Therefore, we hope to attract new players for Kingdom Hunter through the WEMIX platform, before expanding our reach into North America, Europe and the global market,” said Kyongwan Son, CEO of RedFox Games.
“Being the only blockchain gaming platform that handles coins, NFTs and DeFi, we believe that the WEMIX platform can help RedFox Games gain success in the South American market and beyond. We are excited to see the reception of Kingdom Hunter, especially with our Play and Earn (P&E) model,” said Henry Chang, CEO of Wemade.
The collaboration with RedFox Games signifies that Wemade is on track to onboard 100 games on the WEMIX platform by the end of 2022. The WEMIX platform is a hybrid chain that possesses strength in speed and security, especially suitable for game services. WEMIX tokens are used as the key currency for each game and these tokens have been listed on Korea’s largest exchanges including Upbit, Bithumb, Corbit, and other superior global crypto exchanges. As a Diamond Partner at the upcoming Game Developers Conference 2022 in San Francisco, the company is actively collaborating with various developers and introducing a Play and Earn (P&E) model, which allows players to enjoy high-quality games and acquire in-game items through the WEMIX platform.
